A delegation from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) led by its deputy director Ahmed Faruk MUŞTAKOĞLU visited the Cox's Bazar Press Club.
They were welcomed at the press club by the press club leaders led by the general secretary Mohammad Mujibul Islam on monday (15 November) evening.
TİKA's deputy director then exchanged views with press club leaders and local journalists. He said that the Turkish government is a development partner of Bangladesh. Turkey is a partner in humanitarian work for the Rohingya refugees, as well as the local population in Cox's Bazar. The Turkish government will work sincerely to increase the skills and quality of journalists in the region.
While exchanging views with the press club officials, the Turkish ambassador has also said that "In Sha Allah, we will be partners in the development of the Cox's Bazar Press Club," Ahmed Faruk said.
He added that Turkey has many cultural and religious similarities with Bangladesh. Turkey has deep friendly relations with the people of Bangladesh.
Jahed Sarwar Sohail, a member of the press club and a member of the Cox's Bazar Journalists' Union, gave an introductory speech during the exchange of views. Among others, general secretary of the Cox's Bazar Press Club Mohammad Mujibul Islam, Veteran journalist & former president of the press club Badiul Alam, press club Treasurer Advocate Ayasur Rahman, press club executive committee member Ikram Chowdhury Tipu, literary and cultural editor of the press club & Editor of Daily Himchari Hasanur Rashid, press club sports secretary Dipak Sharma Dipu, press club member Mohammad Jonaid, Ahsan Sumon, Farhad Iqbal, Abdul Aziz, Nesar Ahmad Suza Uddin Rubel, Chanchal Das Gupta took part in the discussion.
